Merging Cēsis city and Vaive parish Cēsis municipality was formed. Nature and landscapes assets are as crucial pillar of social-economic development in the municipality where the first in Latvia, the Gauja National Park, occupies large areas. Specialists of Cēsis municipality are experienced in the development and implementation of the territorial management plans and in implementation of several international projects.

In the project, Cēsis municipality will implement one of the cases studies on demonstration of ecosystem based planning solutions on viable grassland management through elaboration of the landscape protection and development plan and carrying out grassland restoration activities, as well as have an essential role in coordination of the involvement of local stakeholders in the project activities.
