Project partner: Institute for Environmental Solutions
Institute for Environmental Solutions is an independent environmental research institution in Latvia for applied research beyond academic structures. The Institute focuses on the research and development of the use of airborne remote sensing technologies for environmental assessments and the management of natural resources. It is currently implementing projects related to forest resource inventory, forest vitality monitoring, evaluation of natural habitats, mapping and monitoring of shallow water benthos and marine biodiversity, detection and analysis of changes in wetland cover and coastal areas, and preservation of archaeological heritage.
The Institute will contribute to the project with obtaining and analysis of high-resolution airborne remote sensing data for two case study areas (Cēsis and Madliena), which will be used for planning grassland restoration and management activities.
